The Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) is an invasive species from Asia that feeds on plant and tree sap.  It is devastating agricultural crops around the country, and has the potential to wreak havoc in your rose garden.  Master Rosarian and PRS Board Member Ray Shipley has been studying SLF since 2017, and has attended special training conducted by The University of Maryland Extension on this formidable pest.  Ray will explain how to identify SLF in all of its stages, how to eliminate it from our gardens, and how to report a sighting.  Forewarned is forearmed!  Be sure to join us for this important program.

Ray Shipley is the former Director of the American Rose Society’s Colonial District, a Consulting Rosarian since 2005 and a Master Rosarian since 2015.  He and his wife Marie grow over 230 roses in beautiful Allegany County Maryland.

This program is FREE and open to the public. You must register to receive the Zoom link. The link will be emailed to registrants several days before the event and again on the day before the event. PRS members will have access to the program recording on the PRS website in the Members-Only video library.
