There will be two tour stations:
1. Rose and Woody in ground field trials
2. Container trials
Upon arrival, the group will be split into two groups. Each group will have 30-45 minutes at each tour station. Please be advised that our area is under extreme heat advisory. We will have cold water available for guests.

Join The Potomac Rose Society on FRIDAY JUNE 21 for a rare, behind the scenes glimpse into the operations of the company responsible for bringing you so many of your favorite healthy rose varieties, as we visit the Star Roses and Plants Corporate Headquarters in West Grove, PA. Star® Roses and Plants has been bringing great plants to the world’s gardens® since 1897. In 2017, Ball Horticultural Company acquired Kordes licensing rights from Newflora, giving Star® Roses and Plants and Ball exclusive rights to sell Kordes garden and potted rose varieties throughout the US and Canada. Star® Roses also has long lasting collaborations with The House of Meilland, Dr. Jim Sproul, and Rose Inovations, LLC, led by Will Radler.
THANKS TO STAR® ROSES AND PLANTS, WE ALL FINALLY HAVE EASY ACCESS TO BEAUTIFUL, DISEASE RESISTANT ROSE VARIETIES (such as Sweet Mademoiselle in the image below) THAT CAN THRIVE IN OUR CHALLENGING CLIMATE!
VISIT DETAILS:
* This event will take place RAIN OR SHINE, but will be cancelled if thunderstorms are forecasted. Complementary parking will be available on site.
* Horticulturalist led tours of the rose and woody plant operations, including trees and edibles, will begin at 11 AM and will last between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the number of questions. The Rose Team expects roses to be blooming on the day.
* The majority of the test fields are off-limits for photography. We will tour specific areas where photos are allowed and our guides will notify us when photography is permitted.
* Star® Roses and Plants is located in West Grove, PA, approximately 90 minutes by car from the north side of the beltway. PRS is facilitating the formation of carpools, so please contact Kathy Jentz at kathyjentz@gmail.com if you need a ride or if you are planning to drive and have room for extra passengers.
