Join The Potomac Rose Society on Sunday September 21 at 2:00 pm as we welcome Leon Ginenthal, owner of Der Rosenmeister Nursery in Ithaca, NY. Leon will share the story of his family-run nursery, nestled in New York's Finger Lakes region, and known for its dedication to the preservation of vintage and cold hardy roses.
You'll get an inside look at his unique garden design philosophy, explore his impressive collection of rambler roses, and gain insight into his passion for Geschwind roses and other captivating varieties from Eastern European hybridizers.

Leon Ginenthal has been growing roses for over 35 years, having discovered a passion for gardening during childhood summers in the Catskills. A retired special education professional, Leon now devotes his time to a range of horticultural passions, including bonsai and rose cultivation. He is a Consulting Rosarian for The American Rose Society, Founding President of the Finger Lakes/Southern Tier Regional Rose Society, and a 2023 ARS Silver Medal recipient for meritorious service to rose culture. Leon also serves on the Agriculture Committee for the Town of Ithaca.
