YOU DESERVE FLOWERS!
An Afternoon at Quince Blossom Ridge Flower Farm
Dear Rose Friends,
We invite you to join us for a delightful autumn outing to Quince Blossom Ridge, a Southern Maryland flower farm and wedding venue located in Waldorf, MD — just a short drive from the D.C. area. Nestled on just under eight acres of rolling lawn and forest, this working farm combines the charm of an English garden with the dynamic beauty of a three-season, organic flower operation.
Quince Blossom Ridge is home to a dazzling array of specialty seasonal blooms, grown organically from spring through fall — including tulips, peonies, tuberose, dahlias, heirloom chrysanthemums, and, of course, hundreds of roses. This isn’t a manicured show garden, but rather a vibrant and ever-changing landscape where flowers are grown with intention, care, and respect for the land.
We’ll begin our visit with a half hour of relaxed socializing — a chance to reconnect with fellow members and swap stories from our summer gardens. We’ll then hear from our hosts, Alex and Dan, who will share a presentation focused on their experiences and lessons learned growing roses organically at such a large scale. Their insights will offer a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to manage a working flower farm with hundreds of roses — from soil health to pest management to harvesting for bouquet-ready blooms.

Alex and Dan’s journey to flower farming is just as inspiring. They met on their very first day at the Culinary Institute of America, and went on to build careers in the hospitality world — from bake shops to Relais & Châteaux venues — before ultimately transitioning from kitchens to cut flowers. Their approach to farming reflects their background: thoughtful, seasonal, and deeply rooted in an appreciation for beauty and the living landscape around them.
To finish the afternoon, you’ll be invited to wander the flower fields, select your own stems at their beautifully curated Stem Bar, and create a custom bouquet to purchase and take home — a lovely way to carry a bit of the countryside home with you. The QBR Stem Bar features a seasonal selection of fresh-cut blooms, harvested and prepared by the farm team.
Helpful Tips: As we come together to enjoy this special day, we encourage attendees to carpool if possible - it's a great way to reduce our environmental footprint and share the ride with fellow flower lovers. Also, please consider bringing a vase, jar, or other vessel to help safely transport your bouquet home.
